What has changed in Nixie, and what is changing in Australian payments that a dance studio has to act on.

An owner can give an AI client read-only access, with a daily budget.

You can issue a token that lets an AI client read the owner portal. It is read-only. It cannot create or rename a studio, send mail or change a setting. Each token has its own daily budget, $0.50 AUD by default, and stops once that is spent. The budget resets at midnight Sydney time.

Owner sign-in has moved onto Nixie itself.

The Control Room at control.nixiedance.com now has its own sign-in. Enter your email address and Nixie sends you a six-digit code. The code lasts ten minutes and works once. Sign-in used to redirect to a page on another site, and it no longer does.

Card surcharges end on 1 October. Direct debit was never in scope.

From 1 October 2026 a studio cannot add a surcharge to a card payment. The Reserve Bank's ban covers debit, credit and prepaid cards. It does not cover direct debit, BPAY or bank transfer, which is worth knowing before you rebuild your fee schedule around it.
