What the studio already does

Siblings go on one account, the costume levy falls due the same week as the term fee, and a Tuesday class that moves has to reach forty households before it happens.

  • The week

A timetable that tests every move The room, the teacher and the families it reaches are all checked before the change is published.
  • The money

Term fees on your own rules Sibling, loyalty and early payment rules run as the invoices are raised, and the levy sits on the same statement.
  • The family

One account, however many dancers Two or three children sit on one login, with one statement and one reference number.
  • The asking

Requests a person decides Approving one tells the family and the teacher whose class moved, in the same action.
  • The floor

Rooms measured as they are used Every studio shaded by how hard it works, so the quiet one is a room you can point at.

The money, the floor space and the quiet room,
in one place.

A term's fees, the rooms that earn them and the one studio sitting pale all week are the same question asked three ways. Nixie keeps them next to each other, so the answer sits in one scroll.

Payments

Plan Easy Pay arrangements, direct debit and BPAY preferences in one place. Keep your studio’s term-fee rules and family questions close to the timetable. Collection needs a connected payment provider; saving a preference does not move money.

Floor space

Every studio drawn on its own floor and shaded by how hard it works, measured in hours booked, seats filled or revenue earned. Support spaces stay hatched and sit outside every figure.

The rooms screen in Nixie. Each floor lists its studios with the hours booked that week, shaded from pale to deep, with support spaces hatched. A panel beside them ranks the hardest working studios and names the quietest teaching space with the hours it takes and what filling it would be worth.

The building

The whole building drawn open over its floors, so you look down into every space in the place you would walk past it. A quiet room stops being a number in a report and becomes a pale room you can point at.

The building screen in Nixie, drawn as two open floor plans seen from above. Each teaching studio carries its name and how full it is, shaded pale when quiet and deep when working hard, with support spaces hatched. A panel beside the plan names the class on now, the class next, and lists the week's classes with their teachers and places filled.

Watch a week run through the building.

Rooms warm as classes fill them and fade when they empty. The pale one is the one to ask about.

This week
The building through one week Two storeys drawn as open floor plans with low walls, so every room is visible from above. As the playhead moves from Monday afternoon to Saturday, each teaching studio is shaded by how full it is at that moment: pale when empty, green as it fills, rose when it is working hard. Support spaces such as the foyer, office and change rooms are hatched and sit outside the count.

    One account per family,
and every invoice is their own.

Sarah Whitfield signs in once and finds both her dancers, Ava and Mia, in one place: the class name, the day and time, the teacher and the room. Behind that sits her statement, and every invoice on it belongs to her account. Nothing from any other family appears there, and there is no class roll.

The account statements panel from the same family view, headed every invoice on your account. Each row carries its invoice number, the date it was issued, whether it is awaiting payment, paid or sent, when it falls due and the amount. A note explains that the customer reference number is the same on every invoice and never changes.
Nixie's family view, headed Hello Sarah, with a note that the page shows only this family's own dancers. Below it the coming week lists the next classes for Ava, aged nine, and Mia, aged six, each with its day, time, studio and teacher.

What Sarah sees when she signs in.

One page holds the lot: both dancers, the next classes with their teacher and room, the balance and the next debit, and the invoices behind them.

    Someone at the studio decides.

A private lesson is two diaries and can genuinely move. A group class runs at one time for everybody in it, so what a family is really asking for is a transfer, and that depends on space. Either way a person at the studio decides. Approving it tells the family and the teacher whose class moved, in the same action.

Nine dollars a student, and a ceiling.

$9 per enrolled student, per month, capped at $1,400

Australian dollars, GST inclusive. The ceiling starts to bind at 156 students, so the larger the school the less it pays a head. Email is included. SMS is a paid add-on. Payment processing is billed to you directly by the payment provider, and that money stays with them.

    $1,260 a month

    140 × $9 = $1,260, under the ceiling.
